My name is Mariam Trejo, aka Ara.
My name is Mariam Trejo, aka Ara.
I was born in Venezuela. I studied Graphic Design at Arturo Michelena University, but once I got my title, I followed my real passion, drawing and illustrating. Since I was a kid, I enjoyed creating my characters based on the shows I watched on TV (mostly anime, I must admit).
I decided to make my way as a freelance, and got my first jobs with clients around the world, as a character designer and drawing for children's books.
I love to make colorful and harmonic art, being careful of the details and the story behind every stroke.
I moved to Argentina and I love to live here. Once established in my new country, I took some remote courses of Scientific Illustration of Birds by Illustraciencia (Spain) and Character Creation by Miki Montlló.
In my free time, I love to travel and watch birds in the wild, and I draw them after taking a lot of bad pictures in the field.
